Open Excel and open the workbook you want to work on.
Ensure you are on the correct sheet where you want to freeze the columns.

Click on the letter at the top of the "Column" you want to freeze.
This selects the entire column. For example, if you want to freeze Column A, click on the "A" header.

Navigate to the top menu and click on the "View" tab.
This tab contains options for changing how you view your spreadsheet.

Look for the "Freeze Panes" button in the Window group and click on it.
This will open a dropdown menu with freeze options.

This option will freeze the first column (Column A) so it remains visible as you scroll horizontally.
