What is a dependency?
"Dependencies are the relationships among tasks that determine the order in which activities need to be performed. With task dependencies, you can mark a task as blocking another task, or blocked by another task."- Asana

Click "Details"
Next to the task for which you want to create a dependency.

Click "Add dependencies"

Select the task you would like to use as a block to the current task.

Click "Close details"

Select the task you have now used as a block.

When you open the details pane, you will see that this task is now blocking the first task we looked at.
